Frequently Asked Questions and Answers for Air Parcel Service

Question 1: How to pick up the air cargo at the destination airport?

Generally, after the exporter sends the goods to the airport, the air cargo company will give you a copy of the air waybill. The original bill of lading will be shipped with the goods to the destination.

Please fax copies of the air waybill, commercial invoice and packing list to the customer. After the goods arrive at the destination, the airline will notify the consignee to pick up the goods. The consignee shall go to the airline to pick up the goods with the fax of the documents, the company introduction letter and the consignee's ID card.

Question 2: After the goods arrive at the airport, how does the customer pick up the goods?

Only the ID card of the consignee is required. When you arrive at the destination airport, you can pick up the goods with the valid provincial card filled in on the consignment note.

Question 3: How to deal with the problems encountered during the pick-up process?

A: When the goods arrive at the airport, according to the bill of lading, you can check online whether the goods have arrived at the destination airport, but you have waited a day (or more days) without receiving the delivery notice from the airport.

Answer 2: Please ask the freight forwarder to help you check whether the goods have arrived at the destination airport, whether they have been transported by air in batches, and whether they have been lost by the airline. Sometimes due to the negligence of the destination staff after arrival and delivery, the arrival information will be lost, and the local cargo information cannot be found. So ask your customer (consignee) to call the airline every day. It's best to go to your local airline to collect undelivered text or written information to avoid high storage costs in the future.

Question 4: When the goods arrive at the destination airport, if the customer does not pick up the goods, is it more cost-effective to return the goods or do other processing?

If the customer does not pick up the goods, some customs will destroy them, and some customs will return them, but the returned freight price is relatively high (including storage fees).

If the consignee does not need the goods, it is necessary to issue a declaration of surrender to the airline in time to reduce storage costs.

Question 5: How long does it take to ship the goods by air?

For different countries, different handling methods, different delivery times

Note: Under normal circumstances, after the goods arrive at the destination airport, the airline will contact the recipient according to the information on the bill of lading to inform the delivery time. Goods can only be picked up after customs clearance.

Process: Unloading an aircraft usually takes several hours. It depends on whether it's a passenger or a cargo plane, whether it's on the loading deck or in the bulk cargo hold. You can pick up the goods after customs clearance. The speed of customs clearance depends on the customs clearance capability of the consignee. Under normal circumstances, this can be done within a day or two.

Question 6: Before picking up the goods, they must be cleared through customs. What is the customs clearance process after the goods arrive at the airport?

When the goods arrive at the international freight station or airport, the staff of the freight station of the freight company will directly notify the owner of the goods. If it is an agent, it will go directly to the customs to go through customs clearance procedures to change the order.

Send the packing list, trade contract and customs declaration materials to the customs clearance agency.

The customs declaration agency handles the customs declaration procedures.
